Hybrid furries are furries that are born when two species of the same genus crossbreed.
Physical Characteristics[]
Hybrids tend to have a combination of characteristics of both of their parents. In many cases, they might be stronger than one or even both of its parents.
Behaviour[]
Hybrids tend to have a combiantion of behaviours of both of their parents. Although sometimes they may have they behaviours of only one.
Fertility[]
Males usually tend to be sterile, although there is a small percentage of them to be born fertile. Females however are always fertile.
Known Hybrids[]
-Liger (Panthera Leo x Panthera Tigris)
-Lepon (Panthera Leo x Panthera Pardus)
-Primagen x Protogen hybrid (hypothetical)
Examples of hybridization during the Pleistocene[]
DNA studies show that the Columbian mammoth was a hybrid species between woolly mammoths and another lineage descended from steppe mammoths; the hybridization happened more than 420,000 years ago.
The mitochondrial genomes of snow leopard and lion were more similar to each other than to other Panthera species, indicating that at some point in their history, the female progeny of male ancestors of modern snow leopards and female ancestors of modern lions interbred with male ancestors of modern snow leopards.
